Executive Underwriter

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. seeks an Executive Underwriter to lead underwriting of complex commercial risks within our Finance & Insurance portfolio. In this role, you will evaluate and price sophisticated accounts, structure coverage, and manage referral and authority levels to ensure profitable growth. You will build strong broker and client relationships, collaborate with risk engineering and claims, and use data-driven insights to optimize portfolio performance. Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price complex commercial insurance risks within the Finance & Insurance portfolio to achieve profitable growth targets.

• Analyze financials, exposures, and loss histories to determine appropriate terms, conditions, and coverage structures.

• Exercise and manage underwriting authority, including referrals and exceptions, within Zurich's risk appetite and guidelines.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and key clients to drive new business and renewals.

• Collaborate with risk engineering, claims, and actuarial teams to optimize portfolio performance and solutions.

• Monitor portfolio results, adjust underwriting strategies, and support planning and forecasting activities.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and documentation standards.

• Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.
