Location: Poole, Dorset Salary: 42,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
TeamJobs are recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join a well-established business based in Poole.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor who is ready to take ownership of a standalone HR function. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will have the autonomy to manage the day-to-day HR operation while also developing policies, processes and people initiatives across the business.
This is a varied, hands-on position and would particularly suit someone who enjoys being the go-to person for all things HR.
What you'll be doing:

Taking ownership of the day-to-day HR function and providing practical advice and guidance to managers across the business.

Managing employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, performance and absence cases .

Leading formal HR meetings and ensuring accurate documentation and processes are followed.

Reviewing, developing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and the employee handbook .

Managing the full recruitment lifecycle , including job descriptions, agency liaison, interviews, offers and onboarding.

Preparing contracts and supporting all new starter, probation and leaver processes.

Maintaining accurate and compliant employee records and HR documentation.

Supporting absence management, including return-to-work processes.

Preparing and maintaining relevant payroll and holiday documentation.

Monitoring employee training records and certification.

Supporting HR compliance activities, including workstation risk assessments.

Using the HR system to maintain accurate employee information and support effective reporting.

Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and ways of working across the business.
What we're looking for:

Previous experience as an HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or experienced HR Generalist .

Ideally, experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or similar commercial environment .

Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice .

CIPD Level 3 or above would be advantageous, although equivalent practical experience will be considered.

Strong employee relations experience with the confidence to independently manage disciplinary, grievance and performance cases.

Experience managing end-to-end recruitment and onboarding .

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build credible relationships with managers and employees at all levels.

Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload.

Previous experience with PeopleHR or another HRIS would be beneficial.

A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to take ownership and make decisions.
