Temporary Grants Finance Analyst

A well-established charity is seeking an Interim Grants Finance Analyst to join its finance team on an initial 2-month contract , with a strong likelihood of extension . This is a fully remote opportunity offering the chance to support a busy finance function during a critical reporting period.

Please note: Previous charity sector experience is essential for this role.

The key responsibilities of the Interim Grants Finance Analyst are:

• Taking ownership of the reconciliation and monitoring of restricted funds, ensuring income and expenditure are accurately recorded.

• Monitoring grant balances, identifying funds that are at risk of underspend and highlighting potential issues to key stakeholders.

• Supporting the preparation of financial reports for grant funders, ensuring reporting requirements and deadlines are met.

• Working closely with budget holders and fundraising teams to investigate coding issues and ensure expenditure is allocated correctly.

• Providing month-end support through detailed reconciliations, analysis and validation of financial information.

• Reviewing management information, identifying anomalies and ensuring financial reports are accurate and reliable.

• Supporting the integrity of financial data by validating reporting outputs and investigating discrepancies.

• Providing financial insight to help improve grant reporting processes and strengthen financial controls.

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous charity sector experience, which is essential.

• A strong understanding of restricted fund accounting and grant finance.

• Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Experience preparing or supporting grant and funder financial reporting.

• The confidence to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

• A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

• A professional accounting qualification would be advantageous, although strong qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.

• Experience using Xledger would be beneficial but is not essential.
