Temporary Grants Finance Analyst

Are you an experienced Grants Finance professional with a strong understanding of restricted funding? Do you enjoy analysing financial data and ensuring grant income is accurately monitored and reported? Are you looking for a fully remote interim opportunity with a charity?
A well-established charity is seeking an Interim Grants Finance Analyst to join its finance team on an initial 2-month contract , with a strong likelihood of extension . This is a fully remote opportunity offering the chance to support a busy finance function during a critical reporting period.
Please note: Previous charity sector experience is essential for this role.
The key responsibilities of the Interim Grants Finance Analyst are:

Taking ownership of the reconciliation and monitoring of restricted funds, ensuring income and expenditure are accurately recorded.

Monitoring grant balances, identifying funds that are at risk of underspend and highlighting potential issues to key stakeholders.

Supporting the preparation of financial reports for grant funders, ensuring reporting requirements and deadlines are met.

Working closely with budget holders and fundraising teams to investigate coding issues and ensure expenditure is allocated correctly.

Providing month-end support through detailed reconciliations, analysis and validation of financial information.

Reviewing management information, identifying anomalies and ensuring financial reports are accurate and reliable.

Supporting the integrity of financial data by validating reporting outputs and investigating discrepancies.

Providing financial insight to help improve grant reporting processes and strengthen financial controls.
The successful candidate will have:

Previous charity sector experience, which is essential.

A strong understanding of restricted fund accounting and grant finance.

Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Experience preparing or supporting grant and funder financial reporting.

The confidence to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

A professional accounting qualification would be advantageous, although strong qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.

Experience using Xledger would be beneficial but is not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected charity on an initial 2-month contract , with a strong possibility of extension, where you will play a key role in ensuring the effective management and reporting of grant funding while working on a fully remote basis.
