Simulation Software Test Engineer

The Opportunity

Join a team at the forefront of developing advanced simulation software that supports complex systems throughout the full software development lifecycle. Working within an Agile environment, you'll help ensure simulation products are thoroughly tested, fit for purpose, and ready for deployment.

As a Software Testing Engineer , you'll play a critical role in assuring software quality, reliability, and performance. Reporting to Project and Technical Leads, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end testing and verification lifecycle of simulation software releases, from planning and execution through to reporting and certification support.

Key Responsibilities

Planning

• Understand customer requirements and testing objectives from a verification and validation perspective.

• Gain an understanding of software design and architecture, including defining test environment requirements.

• Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, specifications, and test scripts.

• Prepare and maintain software test strategies to support project delivery.

Test Execution

• Perform ongoing software testing activities throughout the development lifecycle.

• Lead the investigation and verification of software defects.

• Analyse software logs and test data to identify issues and support root cause investigations.

• Collaborate with support and development teams to resolve technical issues.

• Demonstrate compliance against defined requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Execute formal software qualification and verification testing.

Reporting & Delivery

• Provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders and technical leads.

• Produce detailed test reports and analysis documentation to support certification and release activities.

• Support software deliveries, release management activities, and final acceptance testing.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience in software test automation.

• Proven ability to analyse software logs and test data.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.

• Experience with tools such as GitLab, Jira, scripting languages, and requirements management platforms.

• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.

• Ability to interpret and work within compliance, quality, and regulatory frameworks.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with AI-driven test automation tools.

• Knowledge of simulation, modelling, or emulator-based software environments.

• Linux networking, configuration, and diagnostic analysis skills.

• Experience working within safety-critical, highly regulated, or engineering-focused environments.
