Working Hours : 36 hours per week

Length of role: Initial 12 months We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our team on a fixed-term contract. The role involves processing and calculating high-volume payroll in accordance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC guidelines. This includes handling family leave, timesheet data, and other pay-related activities aligned with employment terms and conditions. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of UK payroll legislation, with public sector experience and familiarity with iTrent or SAP being advantageous.
Day-to-day of the role:

Process and calculate high-volume payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC guidelines.

Handle various payroll functions including family leave, timesheet data, and other pay-related activities in line with employment terms.

Prioritise own workload effectively and escalate complex cases as necessary.

Work collaboratively within a team while taking ownership of individual responsibilities.

Deliver excellent customer service and meet fixed deadlines in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Required Skills & Qualifications :

Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation; public sector payroll knowledge is advantageous.

Experience with payroll systems, preferably iTrent or SAP.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Proven ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively.
