    Payroll Associate (Part Time/Full Time - Accountancy Practice)

    Location: Bath (on street parking available) Part-time (approx. 24 hours per week) or Full-time considered Salary: 30,000 - 35,000 FTE

    An established accountancy practice based in Bath is seeking an experienced Payroll Associate to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with previous accountancy practice experience who enjoys managing a varied client portfolio and delivering a high-quality service.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for processing and managing payrolls for a diverse range of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent customer service throughout.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls

    • Submitting RTI returns and ensuring HMRC compliance

    • Managing SSP, SMP and other statutory payments

    • Administering workplace pensions and auto-enrolment

    • Handling payroll queries from clients

    • Maintaining payroll records and reports

    • Managing payroll deadlines and ensuring timely delivery For candidates seeking a full-time position, there may also be opportunities to support bookkeeping, accounts and wider practice administration duties.

    About You

    To be considered, you will have:

    • Previous payroll experience gained within a UK accountancy practice

    • Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, RTI and payroll legislation

    • Experience with pensions and auto-enrolment

    • Excellent organisational and communication skills

    • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

    • Confidence using payroll software and Microsoft Office - Experience with IRIS Staffology, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or CIS reporting would be advantageous.
