Management Accountant

We're exclusively partnering with a well-established manufacturing business near Haverhill to recruit a talented Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to become the Number Two in Finance , working closely alongside an experienced Financial Controller and playing a key role in the day-to-day financial management of a successful and growing business. The position offers genuine exposure across the finance function, making it ideal for someone looking to broaden their experience and progress their career within manufacturing. The Role Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial information, supporting business decision-making, and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained. You'll work across both financial and management accounting, with the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and commercial projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Producing monthly management accounts and supporting month-end close.

• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger.

• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.

• Analysing manufacturing costs, margins and operational performance.

• Supporting stock accounting and inventory reporting.

• Preparing VAT returns and assisting with statutory reporting requirements.

• Supporting year-end audit processes and liaising with external auditors.

• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.

• Providing financial insight to operational managers across the business.

• Acting as deputy to the Financial Controller when required.

About You We're looking for a proactive finance professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and wants to be part of a collaborative, close-knit team. You'll ideally have:

• Experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role.

• Previous exposure within a manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.

• PQ or Qualified ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience.

• Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP or accounting systems.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• A positive, proactive approach with the confidence to work across different areas of the business.

• The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
