This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional looking for a broad and influential role within a growing organisation. You'll take ownership of the finance function, improve processes and provide strategic insight across the business.

If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely make an impact within a stable, successful business, we'd love to hear from you.

    The Role

As Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for the overall management of the finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and supporting key business decisions.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Leading, developing and mentoring the finance team.

    • Producing accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

    • Preparing statutory accounts in line with FRS102.

    • Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow.

    • Overseeing financial controls, compliance and risk management.

    • Leading the year-end audit process and liaising with external auditors.

    • Identifying and implementing improvements to finance systems and processes.

    • Providing commercial insight and financial analysis to support strategic decision making.

    • Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

    About You

We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, hands-on and enjoys working in a collaborative leadership team.

    Ideally you'll have:

    • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

    • Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Finance professional.

    • Strong experience preparing statutory accounts (FRS102).

    • Experience leading and developing a finance team.

    • Excellent budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting skills.

    • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

    • Advanced Excel skills and confidence learning new finance systems.

    • Excellent organisational skills with a proactive approach to improving processes.

Experience within food manufacturing, distribution or a privately owned business would be advantageous, although candidates from other sectors or accountancy practice are also encouraged to apply.

    Interested?

If this sounds like the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today or contact Autograph Recruitment for a confidential discussion.
