The Job A Financial Controller will be hired for a 6 month period with a view to becoming permanent. This hire will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's financial accounting, transaction processing, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and treasury management. This position with closely with the CEO and the Finance Business Partners, with accountability for the integrity of financial records, financial controls and the delivery of statutory and management reporting.Key Areas of Responsiblies: - Financial Accounting & Reporting - Transaction Processing & Controls - Treasury & Cash Management - Taxation & Compliance - Team Leadership & Development The business A growing SME organisation with UK HQ and a European presence About You - A fully Qualified Accountant would be preferred, however Qualified by Experience candidates with relevant financial controller experience will be considered - Significant experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance - UK GAAP (IFRS) knowledge is desireable - Experience in transaction-heavy, multi channel e-commerce or retail environments would be beneficial - Proven ability top manage high-volume transactions and complex accounting processes - Knowledge of EU VAT and cross-border trade compliance - Proficiency with ERP & accounting systems

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the wider finance team across multiple entities, following a period of growth and acquisition. The role offers exposure across transactional finance, with involvement in both ledgers, cash management and credit control, making it ideal for someone looking to broaden their experience within a busy and evolving environment. Key Responsibilities - Maintain the cash book, including daily postings and bank reconciliations - Support sales ledger activities, including reconciliations and reporting - Process purchase invoices, manage balances and assist with payment runs - Carry out credit control, monitoring outstanding debt and supporting recovery actions - Perform monthly account reconciliations - Process expenses, petty cash and company credit card transactions - Respond to incoming finance queries and support internal stakeholders - Assist with ad-hoc duties to support the wider finance team About You - Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role - Good understanding of sales and purchase ledger processes - Strong Excel skills and confidence using finance systems (SAP advantageous) - Highly organised with strong attention to detail - Proactive, team-focused and able to manage your own workload - AAT (or studying) desirable Offering - Permanent, full-time position - Opportunity to join a growing business following acquisition activity - Broad, hands-on role across multiple finance areas - Supportive team environment with development potential
