Data & IT Support Officer
Location: Rotherham Hospice
Salary: £25,331 - £30,960 per annum
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm
Contract type: Permanent

Purpose of the Role
To support the organisation's effective use of data, systems and technology by maintaining accurate data records, producing reports and insights, and providing first-line IT support to colleagues. The role will spend approximately 60% of its time supporting data management activities and 40% providing IT support and system administration.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management
-
Maintain accurate records across organisational databases and systems.

Perform regular data cleansing, validation and quality assurance checks.

Produce routine reports, dashboards and performance information.

Support departments with data extraction and analysis requests.
-
Develop and maintain data collection processes and procedures.
-
Ensure compliance with GDPR and organisational data governance requirements.
-
Identify trends, anomalies and opportunities for service improvement through data analysis.
-
Support audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
-
Assist with the development and maintenance of KPI reporting.

Create and update system documentation and user guides.
IT Support
-
Provide first-line support for hardware, software and user issues.
-
Set up new users, devices, accounts and permissions.
-
Troubleshoot common IT problems and escalate complex issues where required.

Assist with the management of printers, telephones, mobile devices and peripherals.

Support Microsoft 365 applications and user administration.
-
Maintain IT asset registers and equipment inventories.
-
Assist with software updates and system testing.
-
Support meeting room technology and video conferencing systems.
-
Liaise with external IT support providers and vendors.
-
Promote cyber security awareness and good IT practices.
Person Specification
Essential
-
Experience working with databases, spreadsheets and data management systems.
-
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
-
Experience producing reports and analysing data.
-
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
-
Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
-
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
-
Understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements.
-
Customer-focused approach.
Desirable
-
Experience of CRM systems. (Beacon)

Experience of Power BI or dashboard reporting tools.

Experience of Microsoft 365 administration.
-
Experience working within healthcare, charity or hospice environments.

Knowledge of cyber security principles.
