Our client, a leading engineering and manufacturing business, is seeking an Engineering Buyer to join their team in Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will have a strong procurement background within engineering, excellent supplier management skills, and experience sourcing technical components to support production and business objectives. Source and procure engineered and technical components to support production requirements and project deadlines

Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, lead times, and contracts to achieve the best commercial outcomes

Review engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications to ensure accurate purchasing decisions

Monitor supplier performance, resolve supply issues, and work closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to maintain material availability

Maintain accurate purchasing records using ERP/MRP systems and identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement Engineering Buyer Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)

Minimum 3 years' experience in procurement or buying of engineered or technical components within a manufacturing environment

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications

Proven negotiation, supplier management, and commercial awareness skills

Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, or Microsoft Dynamics, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills

Experience within machine tools, automation, industrial equipment, aerospace, defence, or heavy engineering would be highly advantageous

Full UK Driving Licence
