Accounts Assistant

Accounts Assistant Ipswich 27,000 - 30,000 per annum

We are recruiting for an ambitious Accounts Assistant to join a growing and supportive finance team based in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in transactional finance who is currently studying towards their AAT qualification and looking to take the next step in their accounting career.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities while continuing your professional development within a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing purchase ledger invoices and supplier payments

• Managing sales ledger activities and customer invoicing

• Reconciling bank accounts and balance sheet accounts

• Assisting with credit control and aged debt management

• Supporting month-end procedures and reporting

• Maintaining accurate financial records and data entry

• Assisting with VAT returns and other finance-related tasks as required

• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties

About You:

• Experience handling accounts payable and/or accounts receivable processes

• Currently studying towards an AAT qualification (Level 3 or above)

• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy

• Good organisational and time management skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and finance systems

• A proactive attitude and desire to develop a long-term career in finance
