Accounts Assistant

Accounts Assistant Kingsbridge, Devon £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Our client, a prestigious and ambitious organisation based in the South Hams, is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. Both full-time and part-time applicants will be considered, offering flexibility to suit the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity suited to a Accounts Assistant looking for long-term progression; somebody who enjoys variety and taking ownership of a broad range of accounting responsibilities. Working closely with the wider finance team, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting core accounting processes, and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of day-to-day finance operations.

The responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records using accounting systems

• Complete daily bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies

• Manage purchase ledger processes, including invoice processing and payments

• Reconcile revenue streams, payments, and transactional data

• Support month-end procedures, reporting, and account preparation

• Prepare financial analysis and expenditure reports for review

• Liaise with suppliers, internal teams, and external advisors

• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls The candidate:

• Previous bookkeeping or finance administration experience

• Strong working knowledge of Xero or similar accounting software

• Experience with reconciliations, purchase ledger, and transactional finance processes

• Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills
