RACOM has earned its exceptional reputation for delivering the highest quality products and services over its 40+ year history. In February 2023, Eastern Communications acquired RACOM corporation, and in November 2025, acquired PMC Wireless. It now comprises 240 employees across 17 locations nationwide. Job Summary We are seeking a Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager to join our team in maintaining Land Mobile Radio (LMR) communication systems for our customers. As the first point of contact, the NOC team utilizes core competencies in customer service, network monitoring, and technical support to ensure seamless communication. This role requires management of the NOC team and filling in as NOC operator when the team is not available. Role requires collaboration with other operators, internal stakeholders, customers, and third-party vendors to provide 24/7 support. Prior experience as NOC manager or NOC operator is preferred. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to - Team management: Management, supervision, scheduling, and training of NOC personnel to ensure the NOC is staffed and ready to meet its mission 24/7/365 with competent professionals. - Process optimization: Production and maintenance of standards, procedures, and guidelines across customers and internal teams focused on standardization of processes across customers, improved correspondence with stakeholders, and increased core competency of NOC team - Customer Support: Serve as NOC operator in situations where NOC team is not available and provide overflow assistance with handling calls during peak hours. - Report Generation: Prepare routine reports on incident tracking, outages, and maintenance activities to inform management and clients. - Collaboration: Work closely with other operators, internal stakeholders, customers, and third-party vendors to ensure smooth operation of customers' communication systems. Qualifications - Education and Experience: Candidates with 3-4 years of relevant experience as manager or 4 years of experience as a NOC operator and/or similar experience. High school diploma or equivalent required. - Soft Skills : Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure. - Tools : Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications - Tool : Experience with monitoring tools such as L3Harris RNMs/ ENMs, SolarWinds, Tait Enable Monitor, etc. is preferred. - Technical Skills : Familiarity with or willingness to learn the following aspects of LMR communication systems: - Radio Equipment Operation : Understanding the functionality and operation of handheld portable radios, mobile radios, base stations, and repeaters. - System Infrastructure : Comprehension of the components that constitute LMR systems, including networks that connect base stations, towers, and repeaters. - Frequency and Spectrum Management : Knowledge of VHF and UHF frequency bands and their applications in LMR systems. - Troubleshooting Techniques : Ability to diagnose and address common and frequent issues within LMR communication systems. Availability - Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. However, candidates must be willing to cover additional shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 network support, especially in cases where other operators are unavailable. Binders and/or policy or endorsement requests are to be completed within three days of date quoted to client. - Maintains a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with customers, agency and company personnel to minimize potential for errors & omissions claims. - After reviewing updated client exposure survey information, obtains other renewal information from insured and completes applications for designated renewal business sixty days before renewal date. - Receives phone calls and office visitors requesting quotes, changes to existing coverage, review/process certificate of insurance requests and completes the changes/requests within 24 hours of receipt. Determines acceptability and placement, completes applications or endorsements, and collect premium when applicable. - Reviews existing accounts to determine if additional lines of insurance should be solicited and does so by mail and/or phone prior to renewal. - Receives and reviews all termination and cancellations to determine action to be taken and takes needed action within 72 hours of receipt. - Handles premium collection through form letter and request cancellation of policies when necessary. - Follows up on outstanding claims and provides assistance in their resolution, as necessary. - Solicits expiration dates for policies not written by agency. - Maintains strong carrier relationships in the Commercial Lines space - Solicits increases in limits and/or coverage or rounding out accounts through sales to clients at every service contact. - Seeks recommendations from current client base to solicit for new business prospects; follows up to generate new business using prospect database and automation system. - Meets minimum sales expectations for any and all products and services. - Documents all material conversation with insured and/or carriers regarding exposures and coverage. - Performs other functions as assigned by management. Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years of insurance or business-related experience. - Commercials lines account management experience strongly desired - A two-year college degree, completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program. - Professional insurance designation preferred. - Must possess personal property/casualty agent's license and commercial license. - Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand. - Self-directed nature, ability to work independent of supervision, and ability to follow directions. - Must be able to work in a high-pressured, fast paced environment with significant telephone and personal disruption. - Ability to use personal computer, calculator, agency automation system, and proficiency in various software programs. - Ability to coordinate and prioritize large, detailed project requirements and schedules. Good time management skills required to manage and complete multiple assignments at the same time. - Strong analytical skills with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. - Must be bondable.
