    Job Description

    Our client, a leading company in the defence and security sector, is seeking an Embedded Software Verification and Validation Engineer to join their Real-Time Embedded software department. This is a permanent position that offers a fantastic opportunity to work on some of the world's most sophisticated defence systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Taking requirements and developing them into robust test cases

    • Preparing and executing tests, capturing data, and delivering actionable feedback

    • Working closely with project teams to ensure system components meet stringent verification and validation standards

    • Delivering verification and validation activities in an embedded software environment

    • Engaging in practical problem-solving and data acquisition tasks

    • Utilising scripting abilities to enhance testing procedures

    Job Requirements:

    • Strong experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for embedded software

    • Embedded software development experience using Ada

    • Proficiency in converting requirements into structured test cases and procedures

    • Experience working in a lab environment on electromechanical products running embedded software

    • Good working knowledge of the complete software engineering lifecycle

    Desirable Skills:

    • Experience with safety-critical systems

    • Knowledge of standards like DefStan 00-55, DO-178C & DO-330

    • Understanding of Real Time Operating Systems

    • Model Driven Design experience

    • Knowledge of test automation methods

    • Experience with tools like DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, and LDRA

    • Breakpoint Analysis experience

    • Experience of Focused Code Reviews
