CDM Principal Designer

A growing multi-disciplinary construction consultancy in Manchester is seeking a CDM Principal Designer to join their established Health & Safety team.

The successful CDM Principal Designer will work alongside Project Managers, Building Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors and Architectural professionals across a varied project portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CDM Principal Designer looking for strong project exposure, autonomy and clear progression within a supportive consultancy.

The CDM Principal Designer Role

The CDM Principal Designer will manage projects across sectors including residential, commercial, education, healthcare and the public sector.

You will act as Principal Designer under CDM 2015, working closely with clients and design teams from the early design stages through to completion.

Responsibilities will include identifying and managing design risk, reviewing Design Risk Assessments, preparing Pre-Construction Information, attending design meetings, carrying out CDM audits and assisting with Health & Safety Files.

The CDM Principal Designer

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• At least 2 years' experience within CDM, Principal Designer or Design Risk Management

• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015

• Experience managing multiple projects

• Confidence communicating with clients, designers and contractors

• APS and/or IOSH membership, or working towards membership

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent would be advantageous In Return?
