Job Description
We are working with a well-established accountancy and advisory firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to join its Glasgow team.
This is a strong opportunity for a qualified audit professional who enjoys managing client relationships, leading audit assignments and supporting the development of junior colleagues. The role would suit someone who is comfortable taking ownership of a varied portfolio and who enjoys being a key point of contact for clients throughout the audit process.

The role
As Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
Typical responsibilities will include:

Managing a portfolio of audit clients and building strong working relationships with key contacts

Planning, coordinating and reviewing audit assignments across a varied client base

Acting as a key contact for clients, providing clear communication throughout the audit process

Reviewing audit files and ensuring work is completed in line with relevant standards and internal quality procedures

Identifying technical matters during assignments and helping to resolve these appropriately

Monitoring budgets, timescales and job profitability, including identifying and addressing any overruns

Supporting, coaching and developing junior members of the audit team

Providing constructive feedback to colleagues and helping them progress technically and professionally

Working closely with senior colleagues and partners on client delivery, team development and wider departmental priorities

Contributing to new business activity, proposals or client pitches where required

Taking an active role in your own development and supporting continuous improvement across the team About you
You will ideally be:

ACA, ACCA or CA qualified

Experienced in external audit within an accountancy practice environment

Confident managing a portfolio of clients and multiple assignments at the same time

Comfortable reviewing work and supporting more junior team members

Able to communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and senior stakeholders

Commercially aware, organised and able to manage deadlines effectively

Technically strong, with a good understanding of audit quality and professional standards What's on offer
