    Trials / Test Engineer (Defence Sector) 45,000 - 55,000 DOE Hybrid (3-5 days on-site) Security Clearance: Candidates must be a British Citizen or a Dual UK National holding British citizenship. Our client, a leading name in the defence sector, is looking for a Trials /Test Engineer to join their Integration and System Validation (ISV) team, supporting a major and growing complex weapons programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team at a critical and exciting phase of expansion. The Role: As Trials Engineer, you'll carry out a range of technical, engineering and scientific activities, analysing, interpreting and evaluating technical information, concepts and ideas. Reporting to the Ground Trials Team Lead, you'll apply existing knowledge (or draw on input from senior team members) of Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives principles to contribute to the development and implementation of long-term system safety proving plans and test activities. You'll work closely with teams across the business as well as UK, French and Italian national authorities. There's also scope to broaden your experience into other test disciplines such as Electromagnetic Compatibility, Mechanical & Climatic, or Engine test. This role would suit an engineer with practical experience looking to build on existing skills - or develop new ones - on a high-profile, long-term programme with exposure to a wide range of technical disciplines and stakeholders. What we're looking for: Essential: - Ability to work autonomously or as part of a wider specialist team - Takes responsibility for the quality of work delivered - Proactive in identifying improvements and proposing innovative solutions - Strong communication skills, able to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences Desirable (not essential): - Experience of Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives trials and testing (e.g. mechanical/climatic, EMC, insensitive munitions, chemical analysis) - Knowledge of military safety regulations, policies and standards (particularly Safety and Suitability for Service) - Understanding of safety assessment processes and risk management approaches - Practical mechanical, electrical or software knowledge, ideally within a trials/test environment (use of test equipment, processes and procedures) - Familiarity with project management processes and stakeholder engagement Interested candidates should apply with an up-to-date CV. Our client, a leading organisation operating within a highly advanced engineering and manufacturing environment, is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to join their growing team in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping production test capability for complex electronic systems, supporting products from development through to production readiness. Working within a collaborative and technically challenging environment, you will contribute to the introduction of new test solutions, development testing activities and manufacturing readiness programmes.     Automation Engineer - Contract Immediate Start (must be able to on/around 10th August) Initial 3-month contract, with strong potential to extend to 6 months We are recruiting on behalf of our client, who is looking for experienced Automation Engineers to join a fast-paced, multi-site automation programme across the UK and Europe. You will work alongside the client s in-house engineering and controls teams, supporting PLC code development, implementation, commissioning, testing and continuous improvement across a network of highly automated sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Automation or Controls Engineer to join a high-performing team delivering complex, high-impact projects. Frequent travel across UK will be required. What You ll Be Doing - Developing, testing and commissioning PLC code using Siemens TIA Portal - Supporting fault-finding and troubleshooting on live automated systems - Leading and contributing to process improvement initiatives - Integrating and migrating code across Siemens TIA Portal versions - Supporting the deployment and commissioning of new automation projects - Acting as a key technical point of contact within a skilled team of contractors and permanent engineers What We re Looking For - 5+ years experience coding and commissioning in Siemens TIA - Strong working knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal (version 16 and above) - Experience troubleshooting complex issues across Controls, Fieldbus (Profinet, Profibus, ASi) and IT platforms - Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues to a range of stakeholders - Strong project management, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and teams - Good written and verbal English - Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision - Sound knowledge of machine safety regulations and safe working practices - Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the UK.
