We are seeking an ambitious, commercially minded Senior Finance Manager who is ready to step into a highly visible leadership position within our finance function. This role presents an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Finance Manager seeking a pathway towards a Financial Controller role. This is far more than a reporting position. You will be a key business partner to senior leadership, driving financial insight, operational performance, strategic decision-making and continuous improvement across a complex manufacturing environment. As Senior Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycle while providing critical financial leadership across the business. You will play a central role in forecasting, budgeting, consolidation, board reporting, tax compliance, manufacturing finance and strategic projects. This role offers significant exposure to the Board and senior stakeholders, making it an ideal development opportunity for an individual with the capability and ambition to become a future Finance Director or CFO. As our Senior Finance Manager you will: - Produce accurate monthly management accounts and support month-end, year-end and audit processes. - Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insightful analysis of financial performance and variances. - Prepare board reports and presentations, delivering clear commercial and financial insights. - Manage multi-company, multi-currency group consolidations and intercompany reporting. - Oversee tax compliance, including VAT, payroll taxes, duties and corporation tax. - Partner with business leaders to improve performance, reporting and decision-making. - Support payroll and pension administration. - Drive finance improvement projects and act as deputy to the Financial Controller. About You You are technically strong, commercially aware and comfortable operating within a sophisticated manufacturing environment. You enjoy understanding how a business truly works and can influence stakeholders through clear financial insight and credible leadership. Most importantly, you have the ambition and capability to grow into a broader finance leadership role over time. In order to be successful in this role you must have / be: - ACCA qualified. - Experience within a manufacturing environment. - Strong understanding of standard costing and manufacturing absorption accounting. - Experience managing multi-company and multi-currency consolidations. - Proven track record producing management accounts, forecasts and budgets. - Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, SUMIF, Index Match/XLOOKUP, analysis and dashboard reporting. - Experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders. It would be great if you had: - Sage Payroll and Sage HR. - Treasury experience in mitigating FX exposure and cash management - Microsoft AX experience. - Previous accountancy practice background followed by successful transition into industry. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in developing our people strategy, supporting business growth, and fostering a high-performance culture. As HR Manager, you will work closely with senior leaders and managers across the organisation to provide expert HR guidance, ensure legal compliance, and deliver effective people solutions that support our business objectives. You will take ownership of the HR function, leading all aspects of employee relations, recruitment, payroll oversight, policy development, talent management, and organisational development. As our Human Resources Manager you will: - Partner with the Managing Director and Leadership Team on strategic HR initiatives and projects - Lead recruitment activities and workforce planning to support business growth - Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, redundancy, and dispute resolution - Manage talent development, succession planning, and performance management processes - Maintain and develop HR policies and procedures in line with employment legislation and best practice - Oversee HR systems, employee records, and GDPR compliance - Manage payroll through an outsourced bureau, ensuring accuracy and timely processing - Build strong relationships with external providers including recruitment agencies, training providers, and HR software partners - Support occupational health activities and employee wellbeing initiatives - Produce HR reports and management information to support business decision-making - Coach and advise managers on all aspects of people management About You You are an experienced HR professional who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach. You are confident influencing senior stakeholders, managing complex employee relations matters, and driving positive change across an organisation.
