    Job Description

    Cambridge Health Alliance seeks an Applications Analyst III to support and optimize Epic Beaker CP/AP. In this role, you will design, build, test, and maintain Beaker workflows, orders, and interfaces to support safe, efficient laboratory operations across our community hospitals and health centers. You will partner with lab leadership, clinicians, and IT teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot complex issues, manage upgrades, and ensure system reliability and data integrity. This position supports a mission-driven, teaching-focused environment dedicated to health equity, continuous improvement, and excellent patient care.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, build, and configure Epic Beaker CP/AP workflows, orders, and rules

    • Collaborate with lab leadership, clinicians, and IT to gather and translate requirements

    • Perform system testing, validation, and documentation for Beaker changes and upgrades

    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Beaker and lab application issues

    • Support interfaces between Beaker, analyzers, and other clinical systems

    • Monitor system performance, data quality, and patient safety impacts

    • Participate in on-call rotation and provide end-user support and training

    • Manage change requests, releases, and configuration in accordance with governance

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and lab accreditation requirements

    • Contribute to continuous improvement and optimization initiatives in a teaching environment Required Skills

    • Epic Beaker CP build and configuration

    • Epic Beaker AP build and configuration

    • Clinical laboratory workflow analysis

    • HL7 and interface troubleshooting

    • SQL or reporting tools (e.g., Clarity, Reporting Workbench)

    • Systems testing and validation

    • Change management and documentation

    • Incident and problem management

    • Requirements gathering and stakeholder communication

    • Regulatory and accreditation awareness (e.g., CLIA, CAP)
